Join Dr Helen Brown for an evening talk about the commissioner and possible designer of the unique Burton Mausoleum. Lady Isabel Burton (1830-1896) is an often overlooked figure but holds a fascinating story of exploration and adventure. Her husband, Sir Richard Francis Burton, is a widely remembered explorer of the 19th century whose tales of travel are a key part of British cultural memory.
