Swifts are amazing birds that spend almost their whole life in the air, even eating and sleeping in mid-air! Swifts spend spring and early summer in the UK before migrating to Sub-Saharan Africa.

National Swift Awareness Week is coming up! Our friends at Wimbledon Swifts are hold an evening Swift Walk on Wednesday 2nd July, alongside a short talk. To see more information and book a place, follow this link.

Swifts are currently in decline as there are fewer places to breed and insects to eat. You can help them by avoiding chemicals in your garden and planting pollinator-friendly plants.

Swift bricks, which can be important nesting sites, are now being included in many new builds around the country, and you can install a swift box under the eaves of your house.
