North Cheam Community Garden

Together with local partners, Habitats & Heritage are working to create a community garden focusing on nature. Providing nature a place to thrive and the community an opportunity to engage with nature  on their door step.  The project is turning a currently underutilised space along a public footpath into a space for the whole community.

We are now approaching the first harvest of the community garden. Why not stop by and help your self, get involved with weeding or watering or just enjoy the new community space.

This is your space to grow, share and enjoy. What do you want from the space? What do you want to see grown? How do you want to get involved?

Three raised beds have been installed made of recycled plastic bottles. Various edible plants have been planted and are soon to be harvested. The second area will remain more wild, and has been planted with pollinator supporting species of plants.

Through partners at Sutton Primary Care Networks and NHS South West London this project also looks to promote the benefits of nature to health through running workshops and volunteer sessions focused on wellbeing.

We also want to say a huge thank you to North Cheam Baptist church for supporting the project through activities such as watering of the site.

Upcoming sessions: Saturday 9th September: 10am -2pm
