Monument Conservation Training at Kensal Green Cemetery

With funding and support from Historic England, we are hosting a training day focusing on the care and conservation of cemetery and burial monuments. This training, delivered by the incredible team from Odgers Conservation, is an opportunity to learn about burial monuments, the different stones used in cemetery structures, preventative care techniques, safe plant growth removal techniques and what to do in the event of serious damage or degradation of monuments.
This is a whole day training opportunity – beginning at 10am and ending around 3pm. There will be some theory covered in the first hour. Following this, we will be learning to correctly survey and record monuments, getting practical with some vegetation removal and caring for the monuments. Time for breaks scheduled across the day (please bring own lunch).
