Join Tharik Hussain, Habitats & Heritage Outreach & Education Officer, for an enlightening talk exploring Sir Richard Burton’s complex relationship with Islam as part of the “Burton: Exploring Without Boundaries” project. Discover new perspectives on Burton’s journeys and his deep fascination with Islamic culture.

Speaker bio
Tharik Hussain is the Outreach and Education Officer for the Burton: Exploring Without Boundaries project at Habitats & Heritage and an author and travel writer who specialises in Muslim heritage and culture.
Access requirements
The Riverside Room has step free access via two lifts. From street level, you will need to use the Disabled Entrance which is to the right of the Main Entrance, towards the Riverside.
The Riverside Room is on one level, there are no steps or ramps.
We welcome visitors with disabilities; we also welcome assistance dogs.

There is a wheelchair accessible toilet by the disabled entrance and on the first floor of the Old Town Hall.
