Steve Houchin

Following a career in general contracting Steve started an academic career over twenty years ago.   He has taught on both surveying and engineering courses and he has developed and led undergraduate and postgraduate courses in building conservation.  He is currently teaching at the Building Crafts College in Stratford, East London, a college which specialises in stone and timber crafts.  He believes that an underlying understanding and appreciation of the materials which comprise buildings is essential to inform their continued sustainable use.
