Ruth (Ru) Brookes

Ruth’s background is in countryside management with a particular focus on creating and maintaining resilient ecosystems. “I’m originally from Herefordshire where I began volunteering with the ranger team at my local National Trust property. I then spent nine years down in Cornwall as a countryside ranger at the beautiful Lanhydrock estate. I’ve always loved London and I’m passionate about urban ecology, so I was delighted to take on the role of Natural Habitats Supervisor at Kew Gardens. In my spare time I’m out and about enjoying the wildlife of west London from butterflies and bats to grasses and moss”.
