Litter Pick – Draw Off 2023

  • 18 November 2023 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • Habitats & Heritage event
People with litter pickers on the foreshore of the River Thames near Richmond Bridge.

Join us for a special litter pick on the foreshore of the River Thames! Drop in any time between 10am and 2pm to help us clean up the river by removing litter at low tide. We will provide the litter picking equipment. Please dress appropriately for the weather with warm and waterproof clothing. PLEASE WEAR WELLINGTON BOOTS AND OLD CLOTHES – the foreshore can be very muddy and the Thames mud stains clothes! Please note that under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a free annual event we run to coincide with the Draw Off, when the weir at Richmond Lock is lifted for maintenance, allowing the river between Richmond and Teddington locks to drain down at low tide. When the river drains down lots of litter will be left on the foreshore, giving us the perfect opportunity to remove it.

Meeting point: The river end of Whittaker Avenue, near the Richmond War Memorial. 51°27’31.3″N 0°18’25.2″W, what3words ///taker.beams.raft, Google Plus Code FM5V+F6C Richmond.

Please email hello@habitatsandheritage.org.uk if you have any questions. We hope to see you there!
