Adapting gardens to climate change – A guided tour of Ham House Gardens

An event with Ham United Group (HUG)

Rosie Fyles, Head Gardener at Ham House, leads a tour of the gardens and explains how the gardening team is adapting them to climate change, lessons you can apply to your own garden.

Ham House’s gardens are rooted in centuries of history and staff and volunteers have lovingly recreated and tended these gardens for many years. Today the gardens are being tested by the effects of climate change – flooding, increasing temperatures and extreme weather – and the gardeners are making changes to address these. Rosie Fyles will describe these as we walk through the gardens.

Children are welcome to attend with an adult, although the walk and talk are aimed towards an adult audience. Please book one ticket for each person attending, including children.

This event is part of Ham United Group’s Good Gardens for Everyone project. Support for the project comes from the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Local Area Fund.

Adapted toilet facility available. Level access in gardens – please note paths are made up of gravel and cobbles.
