Apple Tree Walk, Ham Lands

Join Friends of Ham Lands to discover the range and variety of apple trees on Ham Lands. This is a family-friendly event and free of charge on Sunday, 24th Sept at 2PM –  (donations are always welcome).

There are many Apple trees on Ham Lands with a remarkable variety of different kinds, no two trees are exactly alike. They are best described as “wildings” as they do not correspond to any familiar named varieties. Some are palatable, though never as nice as desert apples, while others are sharp or astringent but good for cooking.

With the aid of long apple-picking poles, we will collect and sample as many kinds as we can find.

Please wear suitable shoes and clothing. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.

Meeting point:

Junction of Riverside Drive and Croft Way
