TLS Willow Spiling River Action Day

  • July 11 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
    |Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Thursday, repeating until 1 August 2024

Please join our partners Thames Landscape Strategy continuing their work on the Rewilding Arcadia Project.

The session will be helping to restore and naturalise the foreshore between Richmond and Kew by restoring the Willow Spiling. Willow Spiling is a traditional way to prevent erosion of the riverbank  and enhance habitat on the Thames. It’s fun and easy to do, no experience needed!

Join the session to find out more about the rewilding project and get hands on experience of how we can improve and help to preserve and restore our foreshore and floodplains.

Full instructions and safety briefing and all tools will be provided. Please wear clothes for manual work and boots or wellingtons as this work is conducted in muddy conditions. Please bring also bring water/lunch and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions about the session or for more information laura@habitatsandheritage.org.uk
