Stag Beetle Loggery Building in Marble Hill Park

  • 23 February 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

  • Habitats & Heritage event

Join us in making Eco-friendly Beetle habitats to encourage biodiversity within Marble Hill and learn all about British Stag Beetles!

Loggeries, or log piles, provide an important structural habitat for stag beetles. The decaying wood acts as a vital food source for the beetles’ larvae and as habitat in which to lay their eggs. With stag beetle numbers declining all across Europe these manmade habitats can have a huge impact in keeping the iconic stag beetle around.

In this event, Habitats & Heritage and our partner English Heritage will inform you about stag beetles and their importance in the UK, how to build your own loggery in your garden and finally, will adopt your help in building our very own loggery in the park. We will be holding three 45 minute sessions at 10am, 11am and 12pm on the 23rd of February and we are meeting at the car park inside Marble Hill Park. The event is open to all ages!

Book yourself in for the event free of charge at the ‘Details/Book’ button at the top right of this page, and if you have any questions please email us at hello@habitatsandheritage.org.uk.
