Richmond Climate Week: Climate Tour of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Three Kew staff members will take visitors on a climate tour of Kew Gardens, discussing Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew’s new Sustainability Strategy, some of the plans in development to reduce our carbon footprint, and the impacts that climate change will have on the gardens and precious living collections.
Please note: this tour does not include the price of entry to Kew Gardens. Please pre-book your entry to the gardens here. The meeting point for the tour will be at Victoria Plaza – please enter the gardens via Victoria gate, arriving before 2pm to leave time to get to the meeting point. This tour will be outdoors only. It will involve walking at least 1 mile around Kew Gardens so appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear should be worn. This event is subject to cancellation in the case of extreme weather in which case we would contact participants in advance. Following the tour visitors may with to remain in the gardens to enjoy a longer visit.

As part of London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames’ commitment to taking positive climate action they are teaming up with partners at Habitats and Heritage to deliver a weeklong programme of practical activities, talks, and educational events during Richmond Climate Week. These events will run from 1 to 7 November 2021.
Their aim is that Richmond Climate Week will help our residents, businesses and communities learn about climate change, understand what can be done to help prevent it and to inspire everyone to take action.
