Public meeting – A Friends group for Holly Road Rec
- 10 May 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Holly Road Rec is a lovely park on School Road Avenue in Hampton Hill, just behind Hampton Hill High Street. Nestled between the Longford river and the train tracks it is a perfect quiet place for a stroll with the dog, lingering on a bench, or a quick visit to the playground after school and a chat with the neighbours.
Habitats & Heritage are supporting residents who want to set up a Friends group for the park.
To learn more and to elect a committee, attend the public meeting on Tuesday, 10th May at 7:30 pm at the Greenwood Centre, 1a School Road, Hampton Hill, TW12 1QL.
We are looking for committee members. Please email us at groups@habitatsandheritage.org.uk to learn more and to put yourself forward.

What’s a Friends group?
Friends of Parks groups play a vital role in protecting and enhancing local parks, play areas, woodlands, and green spaces in Richmond upon Thames. Working in partnership with the council, they give residents a greater say in what goes on in their local park.
A Friends group determines their own activities which depend on the park as well as the community’s interests. Activities can include:
- Contributing to the planning and management of the park
- Enhancing biodiversity (e.g. creating wildflower meadows)
- Practical tasks like clean-ups and tree and bulb planting
- Improving access
- Fundraising for improvements and events in the park
- Leading walks and talks
- Producing promotional and educational resources
