Trustees Sought

Help care for the environment where you live with local charity Habitats & Heritage

We are recruiting volunteers from across south and west London to join our Board of Trustees

Our work touches the big themes of our time, from climate change and biodiversity to community and inclusion and brings them to life at the local level. Whether you are an experienced trustee or thinking of joining a charity board for the first time, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly keen to recruit people who live or work in the London Boroughs of Kingston, Merton and Hounslow.

Habitats & Heritage acts for the natural and historic environment and climate in south and west London. It is our vision that the wonderful natural assets and rich heritage of this area be allowed to thrive for the benefit and enjoyment of all who live, work and play here.

Our work touches the big themes of our time, from climate change and biodiversity to community and inclusion, and brings them to life at the local level. We run our own projects helping looking after local parks, restoring neglected green spaces and forgotten historical gems, and we partner with other like-minded organisations large and small to deliver positive outcomes for local area.

Whether you are an experienced trustee or thinking of joining a charity board for the first time, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly keen to recruit people who live or work in the London Boroughs of Kingston, Merton and Hounslow.

Our new trustees will have skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Digital communications
  • Marketing
  • Human resources
  • Nature conservation/ecology

As a Trustee of a local charity you will receive:

  • Induction, training and reimbursement of travel and other expenses
  • Opportunity to help shape strategy and direct outcomes and make a recognisable positive contribution in your local area
  • The chance to work with a great team of staff, Trustees and other volunteers and to extend your own professional network

The role of a trustee is voluntary (with any reasonable expenses reimbursed) with the expectations you will attend six board meetings a year held on Zoom or at our offices in East Twickenham (usually 6 – 7.30pm) and one full strategy day, plus some ad hoc committee and project work.

For an informal chat or to submit your interest (submit your CV and explain how you are suitable for the role), please email Ann Hagel, Co-chair of Trustees on ann@habitatsandheritage.org.uk

Closing date: 7th February at 9 am
