Research Volunteer – Ravensbury Mill
Habitats & Heritage is looking into the Ravensbury Mill and how we can help bring it back into use. We now need research volunteers to dive into the Mill’s history, its past uses and local connections to help us steer it forward.
Ravensbury Mill was used for snuff production right up until 1926. It was also one of the last working mills on the Wandle, generating electricity until the 1960s. The present buildings date from the late 18th – early 19th centuries. The building benefitted from a successful NLHF project in 2017-18 and but remains on the at-risk register.
Some experience of archival research or good local knowledge would be beneficial.
